Downsizing isn't about what you're giving up. It's about what you're making room for. ❤️

More time with family. More freedom. Less maintenance. More peace.

And more time for the things God is calling you to in this season.

If you're a faith-based family considering downsizing in St. Louis, let's talk about your options—no pressure, just a plan.

Downsizing Doesn't Mean Downgrading

When people hear the word downsizing, they often picture giving something up.

A smaller house.

Less space.

Fewer rooms.

But after helping faith-based families through this transition, I've learned something that's far more important.

Downsizing isn't about having less. It's about living with more purpose.

More time with your grandchildren.

More weekends spent making memories instead of mowing the lawn.

More financial freedom to travel, give generously, or enjoy retirement without the burden of maintaining a home that's become too much.

More opportunities to serve your church and your community.

For many families, the home they raised their children in will always hold a special place in their hearts. Those memories are priceless.

But here's the beautiful truth:

Your memories aren't tied to an address.

They're found in every laugh around the dinner table...
Every holiday meal...
Every bedtime prayer...
Every hug at the front door.
Those memories move with you.

Sometimes, the home that once perfectly fit your family no longer fits the season you're in today.

And that's okay.

One of my favorite questions to ask clients is:
"What could your life look like if your home worked for you instead of you working for your home?"

Imagine...
🏡 Less maintenance.
❤️ Less stress.
✈️ More freedom.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 More time with the people you love.
⛪ More opportunities to focus on faith, family, and fellowship.

That's not downgrading.

That's creating space for the next chapter God has planned for you.

If you're a faith-based family in the St. Louis area wondering whether it's time to downsize, I'd love to walk alongside you through the process.

My goal isn't just to help you buy or sell a home—it's to help you make a confident decision that supports the life you're called to live.

💬 I'd love to hear from you:
When you picture your next home, what's the one thing you hope it gives you more of?

Back in the '90s (yes, the '90s!), I had my heart set on becoming an Administrative Assistant.

At the time, I worked for a large company in Des Moines. I had moved into several different positions and thought I was doing everything right to work my way up the corporate ladder.

Then one day, during a lunch with some of the company's top executives at the top of the 801 Grand building, I heard words I'll never forget.

"Jennifer, you're bright, but we're not going to advance you into this position."

It wasn't the answer I wanted to hear, but I wasn't ready to give up.

I started applying outside the company. I went to job fairs, interviewed, and even checked out a résumé book from the library. I completely rewrote my résumé and cover letter, believing that would make the difference.

Still... nothing.

One day, I got frustrated and said to myself, "I'm applying for every Administrative Assistant position in the newspaper."

There was one listing that only had a P.O. Box. I had intentionally skipped it before because I was convinced it was a scam.

This time, I applied anyway.

It wasn't a scam.

It was a Real Estate Attorney looking for an Administrative Assistant.

And I got the job.

Looking back, I realize the opportunity God had for me was the one I almost overlooked.

That experience taught me that a closed door doesn't always mean "no." Sometimes it simply means God has something better waiting. Our job is to stay prepared, keep showing up, and trust His timing.

Ironically, that job introduced me to the world of real estate, a path that would eventually become my career.

Today, I help Faith Based families who feel overwhelmed by downsizing move into a home that allows them to focus on faith, family, and fellowship.

If you're in a season where doors seem to keep closing, don't give up. Keep preparing. Keep trusting. God may already be opening the door you never expected.

Replace guilt with gratitude as you declutter.

Instead of focusing on what you're giving up, thank God for how each item served you during a particular season of life.

Then release it with peace, knowing you're making room for what's next.
