Are you in your 20s and want to own a home but donāt think itās possible?
This past summer I had the pleasure of helping my best friend, Kayla, and her partner, Brendan, purchase their very first home! Kayla and Brendan are now homeowners and both are currently in their 20s!
On top of that, Kayla and Brendan got money BACK at the closing table! They didnāt pay a single cent at closing in order to get the keys to their new home; they got money returned to them!
Kayla and Brendan were able to take advantage of a down payment assistance program for first-time homebuyers called Chenoa that covered the cost of their downpayment.
With some negotiating on my part, Kayla and Brenden were also able to get their closing costs covered by the sellers!
When we made it to the closing table, Kayla and Brendanās downpayment and closing costs were covered so their earnest money (basically a deposit to the sellers for the purchase of their home) was returned to them. They didnāt pay anything out of pocket to close!
Kayla, Brendan and their dog, Zoey, love their new home! They now pay 33% less on monthly mortgage payments than they paid for monthly rent in their previous apartment.
