As Memorial Day weekend approaches, we remember that... All gave some and some gave all!! We remember and honor them this coming Memorial Day.

As families across Door and Kewaunee Counties are preparing to gather at their cherished summer homes and cottages. From the shores of Lake Michigan to the quiet inland retreats, the long weekend marks the unofficial start of summer—a time when porches are swept, docks are set, and grills are fired up for the season's first cookouts.
Local communities are gearing up for parades, memorial services, and festivals that honor those who served while welcoming the warmer months ahead. Fish Creek, Sturgeon Bay, and Algoma will host traditional parades, while smaller towns prepare picnics and lakeside celebrations that draw neighbors and visitors alike.
"There's something special about Memorial Weekend here," shared a long-time resident, Julie P. "It's when the cottages come alive again, when families reconnect, and when we remember what matters most—community, gratitude, and the beauty of this place we call home."
