A weekend in my life… but make it a birthday weekend 🎉

Miles’ birthday weekend! We left Friday evening for Wade’s side of town, and the weekend started with Wade stocking his refrigerator with all the junk food necessary to feed a house full of hungry boys 😂

Miles, B, Zach and I headed down, and somewhere in the middle of finishing up work for the week, I somehow managed to make Miles a candy poster… and leave a letter out of his name. 😂

Saturday morning, we headed to the NOPI car show at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Lots of cars, lots of people watching, and the boys getting to experience drifting — which they obviously loved. 🏎️💨

We ended up getting rained out right at the very end, so we headed back. Then, in true boy fashion, they decided to make a quick drive to Alabama to pick up a jet ski from Zach’s family. 😂

Which unexpectedly gave Wade and me a last-minute date night! We went to Peachtree City’s newest restaurant, J. Alexander’s, and it was SO good. 🍷🥩

Funny enough, I didn’t even realize they have one in our area in Peachtree Corners, so I’ll definitely have to try that one out next!

A busy weekend, lots of laughs, a little rain, cars, boys, junk food… and an unexpected date night. I’d call that a pretty good one. 🤍

For me, NYC holds a very special memory. In April 2013, I had a very special visit from very special friends while I was undergoing cancer treatment. The following week, my hair was gone.

I’ll always remember that trip, that season of my life, and the strength I felt in a city that has endured so much.

NYC is strong. NYC is resilient. And September 11th is a reminder that we remember, not just the tragedy, but the lives, the love, the courage, and the resilience that followed.
And today, 9/11 carries another special meaning in our family, it’s also Miles’ birthday. ❤️

Some days are remembered by everyone, but they mean something different to each of us.
