Rental scams are VERY real. 🚨🏡

Someone recently reached out to me after what should have been an exciting rental search turned into a really unfortunate situation. Money was sent, personal information was shared, and then… the person she had been communicating with disappeared.

There were red flags that, with the right resources, could have been caught beforehand.

So this is your reminder: before you send an application, application fee, deposit, or personal information to someone you met online, VERIFY.

Verify the property.
Verify the listing.
Verify the person you’re dealing with.

And please know this: you don’t have to be buying a home or even working with me to ask me a question. If you find a rental online and something just doesn’t feel right, send it my way. If I can help you verify it or point you in the right direction, I will. 🤍

I’d much rather you ask before you send the money.
