Water utility lines are one of the first things that go into the ground before a property can function the way it's supposed to. They carry potable water from the main source to the site, and depending on the scope, that can mean running new service lines, tying into existing municipal systems, or installing the fittings and valves that control pressure and flow.

Depth matters here. Lines have to sit below the frost line and clear of other buried utilities, which is why trenching gets planned out before anyone breaks ground. Get this part wrong and you're looking at leaks, pressure problems, or a line that has to be dug back up later, so it pays to have people who've done this enough times to know what they're looking at.
