JOHN GOCI TO PURSUE WRITE-IN CAMPAIGN FOR CONGRESS

OFFICIAL STATEMENT

Over the last several months, I worked day and night to earn my place on the ballot for Michigan’s 13th District. I personally collected more than 700 signatures, while my volunteers collected hundreds more because we believed the people deserve a real choice.

As the deadline approached and bad weather made collection difficult, I hired a company recommended by trusted individuals to help finish the job. After my petitions were challenged by Shri Thanedar, it was discovered that signatures submitted through that company cannot be verified and will not be counted, leaving my campaign just short of the required total.

I am deeply disappointed and feel completely misled, and we are reviewing every legal option available.

But we cannot always control what happens to us because of the actions of others — we can only control how we respond.

And my response is simple: this fight is not over.

This campaign has always been about PEOPLE OVER MONEY, and if I have to continue this race as a write-in candidate, then that is exactly what I will do.

On August 4th, write in John Goci for Congress.

This fight is just beginning.

Nominating petitions are in.

We submitted approximately 1,700 signatures, with 700 collected personally by me—about 70% of the required total gathered by my own effort. I’m proud of that because I believe one thing: if a candidate works hard to earn your support, they’ll work just as hard in office.
