Last November, before Mamdani took office and before we saw one of the most insane rental markets NYC has had, I was interviewed by NTD Global News about the election, the market and where I thought the city was headed.
My answer always came back to New York’s resilience. And obviously I got into my favorite topic, FiDi, which after years of being overlooked had one of its biggest summers yet.
Funny how quickly a neighborhood can go from “no one wants to live there” to all over your feed.
But what I said then still stands: no matter the elected official, the vacancy rate or the market conditions, if you truly want to be in NYC, you’ll find a way to make it happen.
This summer Manhattan vacancy hit just 1.56%. I think that speaks for itself.
There’s only one New York, let’s get you here
