While mortgage rates are projected to go down in 2024, C.A.R.’s (California Association of Realtors) “2024 California Housing Market Forecast” sees an increase in the number of existing single-family home sales of 22.9 percent next year.

California median home prices are forecast to rise 6.2 percent.

According to Analyst Marc Sternfield, five California metro areas are predicted to see double-digit, year-over-year sales growth in 2024. They are Oxnard-Thousand Oaks (18%), Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario (13.8%), Bakersfield (13.4%), San Diego-Chula Vista-Carlsbad (11%), and Sacramento (10.3%).
