Big News for Williamsburg, VA: Ashby Business Park Is Underway and Williamsburg Eye Care Is Leading the Way!

Robertson Liebler Development Group (RLDG) has officially closed on the 4-acre site for Ashby Business Park, and site work is now underway on what will become a premier four-building professional office development at 100 Ashby Park Drive.

I am pleased to announce that Flame Japanese Hibachi has leased 1,609 SF at The Shops at Kickback Jack's, located at 9320 W. Broad Street in Richmond, Virginia.

This new location marks Flame Japanese Hibachi's second Richmond-area restaurant, joining its successful operation at The Shops at Stratford Hills on Forest Hill Avenue.

Known for its fresh hibachi-style cuisine, made-to-order meals, and loyal customer following, Flame continues its thoughtful expansion throughout the Richmond market. Congratulations to Todd Buttner of Commonwealth Commercial and his client, on securing another great location for this growing brand.

It was a pleasure to represent the landlord of this well-maintained shopping center and to work alongside Todd throughout the process. One of the highlights of this transaction was having the opportunity to meet Todd in person for the first time at ICSC Las Vegas last month, where we were able to finalize lease negotiations face-to-face. During our conversations, we discovered several mutual colleagues who we are both fortunate to call friends.

Moments like these serve as a reminder that commercial real estate is ultimately a relationship business. While transactions are important, long-term success is built on trust, collaboration, and the professional relationships we cultivate along the way.

My Mom has always been an inspiration! Not only to our family but to many others…so I have learned. This week she was honored as the Everyday Hero by WTKR News 3 and Southern Bank.

At 93 years young, she continues to live a life of service — volunteering at Sentara Health Sentara Hospital for the past 23 years and bringing kindness, encouragement, and joy to patients and families every week.

She loves the Lord, has been blessed with wonderful health, and has always believed that serving others is one of life’s greatest callings. Our family has watched her quietly make a difference in so many lives over the years.

To us, she has always been extraordinary. But it’s wonderful to see others recognize what we’ve known all along. Thank you, Nik Trivedi, gift shop manager at Sentara Princess Anne for
nominating her and for my beloved sister and brother in law, Cathy and Don Peate, for attending to her busy, busy life.

I’m incredibly proud to call her my mom ❤️ and I can only hope that I will follow in her footsteps of volunteering when I retire.
