Having spent the vast majority of my life in WNY I’ve always believed that our community is something special. We’re all just one short conversation with pretty much anyone from discovering multiple mutual friends, connections, relationships. The horrific attack on May 14th four years ago would have been devastating to any community, but in a city like Buffalo nearly everyone I know was personally touched in some way. Margus Morrison was a beloved fixture at my school during the teenage years. Others I know lost long time family friends, family members. The following years have been trying for many in our local community, but I like to believe as a whole we continue to rally around our own. Today a group from Keller Williams spent several hours preparing food at St Luke’s Mission and beautifying the surrounding neighborhood. It’s days like today, spent with great people, and taking care of our extended WNY family that makes me feel so incredibly fortunate even when the world can feel heavy.
If today is extra hard for you, please know that I’m thinking of you and sending so much love your way. We are so much better as a community because of each and every one of you.

Today, we remember the lives stolen on 5/14 and stand with the families, survivors, and members of the East Side community still carrying this pain every day.

Four years ago, a racist terrorist came to Buffalo and targeted innocent Black Buffalonians at the Tops on Jefferson Avenue.
