Home inspections can feel overwhelming but they don’t have to be!

Inspection reports are often long, detailed, and a little intimidating (okay… sometimes very intimidating 😅). That’s exactly why attending the end of the home inspection matters.

Most inspections last around 4 hours, and inspectors usually recommend buyers show up for the last 30 minutes. That’s when they walk us through the property and show us:
✔️ What actually matters
✔️ What’s routine or normal wear
✔️ What sounds scary on paper but isn’t a big deal

Seeing it in person and hearing it explained makes a huge difference and helps you make confident decisions instead of panicking over what’s on the report.

My goal is to help my clients understand the facts, ask the right questions, and move forward with clarity.

❄️🌨️ With a winter storm expected this weekend, here are a few important ways to prepare yourself and your home to stay safe and to help avoid costly damage:

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Personal Safety
• Stock up on essentials: food(especially food that you don’t need to cook, just in case you lose power), water, medications, and batteries
• Have flashlights ready in case of power outages
• Charge phones and backup power banks
• Avoid unnecessary travel
• Limit time outdoors during extreme cold and please bring any pets inside

🚗 Vehicle Prep
• Fill up your gas tank
• Keep an emergency kit in your car (blanket, water, flashlight)
• Park vehicles away from trees if possible

🏠 Home Prep
• Insulate or cover exposed pipes to prevent freezing
• Let faucets drip slightly during extreme cold
• Check your heating system and change filters if needed
• Stock ice melt/sand for walkways and driveways
• Clear gutters and downspouts to prevent ice dams
• Bring outdoor plants, hoses, and furniture inside

As always look out for your neighbors especially the elderly and don’t hesitate to ask for help if needed. Stay warm and stay safe! 🤍❄️
