Bought a home in the last 5 years? You might be paying PMI you don't need anymore. 💸
If your home has gone up in value, you can ask your loan servicer for a new valuation and drop PMI early. You don't have to wait years to pay it down.
The numbers (conventional loans):
• Owned 2–5 years → balance must be 75% or less of today's value
• Owned 5+ years → 80% or less
• PMI often runs $100+/mo, which is money back in your pocket
Heads up: FHA loans play by different rules. Usually it takes a refinance to drop it.
