📈 Labor’s plan to abolish stamp duty for eligible downsizers was already driving strong pre-election interest in apartments and, with the Malinauskas Government returned, we expect to see demand accelerate even further for North Shore.

The policy will lower moving costs for baby boomers, freeing up family homes and boosting new housing supply.

Barrio Developments founder Glen Vollebregt says the proposed relief is being welcomed by both baby boomer buyers and developers.

“By reducing the financial barrier to moving, the policy could help unlock larger homes for families while supporting new housing supply,” he said.

“We’re already seeing increased inquiries about off-the-plan apartments at North Shore Glenelg, due for completion mid-year. Early inquiry levels suggest the policy is resonating with downsizers who may have previously delayed making a move.”

Once legislated, the exemption will:

➡️ Apply to South Australians aged 60+
➡️ Be for buyers aged 60+ of newly built homes or off-the-plan apartments
➡️ Provide stamp duty savings off the first $2M
➡️ Deliver potential savings of up to $103,830

On track for completion mid this year, North Shore offers a selection of premium 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, priced from $1.2 to $3.1M.
