This one’s for the landlords and portfolio investors:

Don’t be pushed into signing your newly purchased asset over to the selling agent. Do your homework and choose a manager who will genuinely protect your investment.

I’ve just guided a long-term client through exactly this. The selling agent applied heavy pressure to secure the management, even offering twelve months free management. That level of discount isn’t confidence, it’s desperation, and it usually ends with the landlord paying for it later.

Property management isn’t simple. It demands experience, structure, accountability and sharp oversight. You need someone who genuinely safeguards your asset and anticipates the risks, not a sales agent looking for an easy in-house fee referral.

And remember, it’s never about the cheapest fee. You get what you pay for.
