THIS SPACE: dreams coming true.

This Sunday, I stood on stage in front of ~500 people (nervous as s**t) and spoke about my journey in Real Estate business ownership and what we’re doing to improve the property management sector.

Sitting here today, I’m reflecting on how big of an achievement that is for me personally.

I grew up in housing with two mentally ill (beautiful) parents.

I grew up with little-to-no money and a very grim life trajectory. I was smoking and drinking by 15 years old. I had my daughter when I was 17. Life between 17 and 25 was concerning troubling and I’m only starting to understand myself recently.

Fast forward to now I have taken those struggles and turned them into success.

It’s just the beginning.
I have so much to learn.
So much to do and so far to go.

Personally and professionally.

Every single one of the other speakers on that stage over the two days had achieved more than me and most had more incredible stories and challenges.

So to be joining them on stage was a true honour. I’m actually still sitting here wondering how I made the cut.

I have such a huge amount of gratitude for Fiona Blayney and Tameka Smith who trusted in me to present. Thank you so much.

I have immense gratitude for my sister Hasia Roland who I always mention whenever I am proud of myself-because without her my life would be extremely different. Thank you for always pushing me to be more, no matter how hard it would’ve been feeling like the bad guy.

As a father, I understand that feeling now more than ever.
I love you.

One of my biggest goals is to inspire other people, especially those who have come from rough backgrounds. I want to be an example to those who feel like they can’t achieve greatness because of their environments. I want to be a part of changing their persepctives. I want to give people hope in themselves.

Which leads me to why this is such an important time for me-standing on a stage presenting with and to such incredible people and being heard on a wider scale is a huge step forward to my goals.

Here’s to the future.
