Today we took a moment across our offices and sites to recognise R U OK? Day.

A cupcake, a few treats and a simple reminder that a conversation can make a difference. You don’t need to be an expert to check in with someone — sometimes simply asking “Are you OK?” and taking the time to listen is enough.

While today is a great reminder, checking in with our mates and workmates is something we can do any day of the year.

Fergus Civil is looking for an experienced, hands-on Civil Operator to join our growing team and work across a strong pipeline of local civil projects.

You’ll be involved in a variety of works, including build pads, carparks, subdivisions and commercial earthworks—so no two days will be the same.

We’re looking for someone with:
✅ Experience operating excavators, loaders, rollers, water trucks and posi tracks
✅ A current HR licence and White Card
✅ Strong civil construction knowledge
✅ A reliable, safety-focused and solutions-driven approach
✅ Final Trim, GPS and grader experience—not essential
✅ Willingness to grow with the role

Fergus Builders is proud to be delivering the new Cannonvale Community Hub for Whitsunday Regional Council, with the official sod turning marking an exciting milestone for the project.

We’re looking forward to seeing this fantastic new community facility come to life, helping deliver an exciting new space for the Whitsundays community!

Turning dirt on Cannonvale’s future! 🌱A great milestone today as we officially turned the sod on the new $30 million Cannonvale Community Hub at Galbraith Park.

The Hub will bring together a modern library, Council customer service, meeting rooms and flexible community spaces, all designed to connect with the surrounding park.

Mayor Ry Collins said investing in community infrastructure across the Whitsundays was an important part of keeping pace with the region’s growth.

“Cannonvale is changing quickly and we need to make sure our community facilities keep pace.

“This is a large investment in Cannonvale’s future and another important step in making sure the Whitsundays remains a great place to live as our region continues to develop.”

The project is proudly supported by $15 million from the Australian Government, alongside Council funding, with completion expected in late 2027, weather permitting.
