The Federal Budget didn’t end property investing. It simply shifted the conversation.

The Government is clearly placing greater focus on increasing housing supply and encouraging new development moving forward.

Under the proposed changes from 1 July 2027:
• Negative gearing may apply largely to newly built properties
• Existing investment properties are expected to be grandfathered
• The focus may shift further toward long-term strategy and asset selection

That changes the conversation.

But it doesn’t remove opportunity.

The investors who typically perform best long term are the ones who stay informed, adapt early and focus on fundamentals rather than fear.
