Long before modern cottages lined the shoreline, Milford Bay House welcomed visitors to Lake Muskoka from around the world.

Built in 1887 by early settler Robert Stroud on Huckleberry Rock, this grand lakeside hotel became a favourite destination for tourists and new settlers alike. Sadly, the iconic landmark was destroyed by fire in 1933, leaving behind only photographs and memories of a remarkable chapter in Muskoka's history.
