Proud to share that my latest article, The Hidden Cost of Cutting Corners: Why Condo Corporations Must Appoint a Constructor, has been published in CM Magazine.

The article breaks down a real-world case where a condominium corporation faced Ministry of Labour orders and a significant change order after a constructor was not formally appointed on a multi-trade project — highlighting how easily well-intentioned decisions can expose Boards to serious legal and financial risk under Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.

It covers why multi-trade projects automatically trigger constructor obligations, common misconceptions around standard construction contracts, and practical steps Boards and managers can take to stay compliant and protect the corporation.

For Boards, Directors, and fellow condo professionals, this is a critical but often overlooked area of risk management.

We received a message from The Food Bank of Waterloo Region today sharing the results of our recent Food and Fund Drive, and I wanted to pass along the update to everyone who supported it.

Our community raised a total of $2,375.60, which translates into 4,751 meals for individuals and families in Waterloo Region. These contributions help fill critical gaps in food inventory, support diverse dietary needs, keep delivery vehicles on the road, and assist the 61 community programs that provide food support to nearly 73,000 people in our region.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped amplify this initiative. Your support directly impacts the 1 in 9 households in Waterloo Region that struggle to afford food. I’m grateful for the kindness shown by our communities and proud of what we achieved together.
