For those who may not know, initially I started my career in the banking world, helping people secure financing for home purchases. I’ve been on both sides of the real estate transaction, and securing a mortgage has become more complex than ever.

I'm sure many folks have felt it. Walking into your local branch for financing just isn't really an option anymore.

But why are things so complicated?

A lot of it has to do with automated systems, more complicated income streams, and a bigger push to prevent fraudulent purchases.

❤️ Little but mighty — and making a big difference in Canmore.

Founded in 1978, the Canmore Hospital Ladies Auxiliary is a true grassroots organization dedicated to supporting the Canmore General Hospital. Through local fundraising events, BBQ lunches, community partnerships with organizations such as Wild Life Distillery, and operating the tuck shop at the hospital, this hardworking group helps raise funds for much-needed medical equipment that the hospital might not otherwise be able to afford.

The ladies have plenty of fun along the way, but they are deeply committed to their mission: supporting excellent patient care on behalf of the Canmore community.

June continued to reflect a balanced and steady real estate market in Canmore, with activity closely mirroring what we experienced last year.

Looking at the first six months of 2026, the market has remained remarkably consistent.

January–June 2026

Compared to January–June 2025

What does this tell us?

Despite ongoing economic uncertainty and fluctuating interest rates, the Canmore market continues to demonstrate its resilience. Sales volume is nearly identical to last year, homes are selling 11 days faster on average, and average sale prices have increased modestly. Overall, 2026 is shaping up to be a continuation of the healthy, balanced market we experienced in 2025.

Happy Canada Day! 🇨🇦

Wishing everyone a wonderful day celebrating this beautiful country we are lucky to call home.

In honour of Canada Day, here are a few fun facts about our iconic maple leaf flag:

🇨🇦 Our current Canadian flag was officially adopted in 1965 and has become one of the world’s most recognizable and unique national symbols. It is also celebrated every year on National Flag of Canada Day.

🇨🇦 During the 1964 “Great Flag Debate,” Canadians submitted more than 5,000 different flag designs. The winning design was created by historian Dr. George Stanley.

🇨🇦 The maple leaf flag has even been to some pretty incredible places! Mountaineer Laurie Skreslet carried it to the summit of Mount Everest in 1982, and it traveled to space aboard NASA’s space shuttle Challenger in 1984.

🇨🇦 Community is built when people come together — and Canmore’s Canada Day celebration is such a beautiful example of that.

What many call the Best Small Town Canada Day Celebration in Canada happens because local organizations, volunteers, and the Town of Canmore work side by side to create something special for residents and visitors alike.

The day begins with the 36th Annual Fun Run and Walk, hosted by the Canmore Nordic Ski Club, followed by the much-loved Stampede Pancake Breakfast, hosted by the Rotary Club of Canmore at Centennial Park. At noon, the Town of Canmore brings everyone together for the iconic Canada Day Parade down Main Street.

Three organizations. One community. A full day of connection, celebration, and Canmore spirit. ❤️

Here’s what you need to know for Wednesday:

36th Annual Fun Run and Walk hosted by the Canmore Nordic Ski Club, with 3km, 5km, and 10km run/walk options.
