Rainbow’s End receives Ontario Trillium Foundation Grow Grant to help build the successful Mow-Town Social Enterprise

We are excited to announce that the Ontario Trillium Foundation has awarded Rainbow’s End Community Development Corporation $254,000 Grow Grant over two years to expand our Mow-Town social enterprise!

This grant will help launch a new landscape construction training program, creating meaningful employment and skill-building opportunities for individuals living with mental illness and facing barriers to employment.

Building on more than 16 years of success in the Hamilton area, Mow-Town will now offer hands-on training in areas such as interlocking stone installation, deck construction, and heavy power tool operation — combining real work experience with individualized support and mentorship.

We are grateful to our community partners, including St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, YWCA Hamilton, and March of Dimes Canada, for helping participants build confidence, skills, and pathways to long-term employment.

Thank you to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for investing in brighter futures and stronger communities!

So many of our posts are about what we have achieved, but this is about a loss. We lost a team-member and friend last week. He had been fighting the fight against schizophrenia and bi-polar for 13 years. We don't always know when we drive and chat and work alongside people how much of a struggle it can be at times to just "be". I remember a quiet man, very well read, with plans and dreams and goals. I will remember sharing laughs and smiles and healthy living tips. I will remember a musician, a spiritual investigator and a diligent worker. I will remember someone who cared about other people and who shared some insights to help make other people's lives better. I remember a young man who was just 30 and I am sorry for his mum and dad and family who are also just coming to terms with this tragedy. Bless you Luke, you made other people's lives better, we miss you.

This week Mow-Town took on a large cleanup. We tackled an overgrown laneway overrun with weeds and garbage. We started by pulling out, cutting down and trimming all the weeds. Then we removed the garbage. With a little extra trim, this property is on its way to a better and cleaner future.

Our sincerest "Thank You" from Rainbow's End to the The Allen and Milli Gould Family Foundation.

We are forever grateful to The Allen & Milli Gould Family Foundation for their continued support of Rainbow's End, our Hamilton-based mental health charity. In the past, the foundation has providing working opportunities as well as generous donations that make a significant difference in the lives of those we serve. Their most recent donation allows us to continue growing working and training opportunities for our team-members, and to purchase vital pieces of equipment that help us extend our services.

It warms our hearts to see others join us in breaking the stigma around mental health and promote wellness for everyone. We are honoured to work with you once again as we continue to pursue this goal. Thank you for believing in our mission, our team-members, and for standing with us in this important work.
