The starter home isn't dead — it just looks a lot different than it used to 🏡

A new build that cost $120,000 in 1997 is selling for $600,000 today 😳 and that shift has completely changed what getting into the market looks like for first-time buyers. The good news? JULY MARKET STATS ARE OUT! 📊

Home prices continued to ease across the Fraser Valley in July, improving affordability for buyers, while many continued to take a measured approach to purchasing. With plenty of inventory still available, buyers have more time to explore their options and find the right fit.

Here's a little breakdown:

• Last month's sales were 9% fewer than a year before.
• There were 18% fewer homes listed than the previous year.
• The benchmark price for all home types was $877,600.

JUNE MARKET STATS ARE OUT! 📊

The Fraser Valley housing market continued to offer buyers plenty of opportunity in June, with affordability improving and inventory remaining healthy. 🏡 While sales were slightly below last year's pace, steady listing activity and more choice are helping create favourable conditions across the region.

Here's a little breakdown:

• Last month's sales were 4% lower than a year before.
• There were 8.7% fewer new homes listed than the previous year.
• The benchmark price for all home types was $884,800.
