A huge thank you to Rotary of Miramichi for their generous $5,000 donation to support food security at MHS! đ
Our meal program provides multiple meals each day, helping to feed 40+ individuals daily, including shelter residents and community members experiencing food insecurity.
As the need continues to grow, support like this makes a tremendous difference.
Thank you, Rotary of Miramichi, for helping us ensure our community has access to nutritious food when they need it most. đ
Rotary Club of Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada
At our clubâs most recent meeting at Mikes Bar and Grill, we were delighted to present a cheque for $5,000 to Miramichi Housing Solutions Inc. for its Community Hub meal program.
In addition to its Miramichi Youth House and adult shelter facilities, the group also operates a Community Hub where anyone in the community experiencing food insecurity can access meals, support services, and connections to housing, healthcare, and other essential resources.
Every day, Miramichi Housing Solutions prepares and serves three hot meals to emergency shelter residents while also welcoming community members who need a warm meal and a safe place to connect with supports. The group also regularly helps seniors, people with disabilities, people living on low incomes, and those experiencing homelessness or crisis.
Demand for the meal program continues to grow, placing significant pressure on its food budget. Community partnerships such as the one with Rotary will help ensure that no one is turned away in a time of need.
The funds from Rotary will allow the group to buy fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and protein products, dairy products, bread and bakery items, and pantry staples such as rice, pasta, canned goods, cereal, flour, and cooking oil, as well as breakfast goods, coffee, tea, beverages, and meal preparation supplies.
