VICTORY: DATA CENTRES IN MISSISSAUGA HAVE BEEN PAUSED

You did your part. Now it was up to Mississauga City Council to do ours.
Today, after one of the longest Council sessions that we've ever had, Mississauga has officially put a pause on data centres.
We secured a nearly unanimous decision, with only Mayor Parrish who chose not to vote at all.
This is the first crucial step in modernizing Mississauga's zoning and by-laws to be able to properly protect against data centres that would be damaging to our city. The fight will continue, but today we secured a major victory.
I want to thank you personally for signing the petition and raising your voice against hyperscale data centres in Mississauga. When residents come together and speak in a unified voice, we can make a difference, and you helped to do just that.
