In real estate—particularly in Ontario—a "link" (or link home) refers to a specific type of construction where two properties appear to be detached but are actually physically connected in a way that isn't immediately obvious.

What is a Link Home?

A link home is a hybrid between a detached house and a semi-detached house.

New Build Bonanza. Up to $130,000 HST Rebate Expanded to ALL New Home Buyers

The Ontario government made a major announcement today that could significantly lower the cost of your next home purchase.

As part of the 2026 Provincial Budget, the government is proposing to expand the HST rebate on new homes to all buyers—not just first-time buyers. For a limited one-year window, you could save up to $130,000 on a newly built home or residential rental property.

The Highlights:

• Max Rebate: Up to $130,000 for homes valued up to $1.5 million.
• Eligibility: Open to all buyers (primary residence or rental) for a one-year period.
• The Window: Purchase agreements must be signed between April 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027.
• Deadlines: Construction must start by Dec 31, 2028, and be completed by Dec 31, 2031.
