As Volunteer Appreciation Week approaches, I’ve been reflecting on how meaningful it has been to give back to my community.

Each week, I volunteer at Markham Stouffville Hospital, where I provide wayfinding and concierge support to patients and their families. Whether it’s helping someone find their appointment or guiding them to visit a loved one, I’ve seen firsthand how even small acts of assistance can make a stressful day a little easier.

Markham Stouffville Hospital is truly an incredible place, and it’s especially near and dear to my heart. I’ve been a patient there numerous times over the years, and it’s also where I delivered my son. Being able to give back to a place that has meant so much to my family makes this experience even more meaningful.

Volunteering, to me, is about showing up with empathy, patience, and a willingness to help others navigate moments that matter. It’s also a reminder of how interconnected we all are, and how important it is to support one another.

I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to contribute in this way and to be part of a community that values care and compassion.

Becoming a mother didn’t just change my life. It completely reshaped how I approach my business.

Before, I said yes to everything. It felt like part of the job.

Now? Time feels different. Time is no longer flexible or endless, it’s sacred.
Every hour I spend working is an hour away from my family. And that shift has forced me to get incredibly clear on what matters:

- Working with clients who are serious, respectful, and ready
- Setting boundaries that protect both my energy and my standards
- Letting go of the idea that being “available to everyone” equals success

Becoming a mom has also deepened my empathy in a way I couldn’t have fully understood before. Buying or selling a home is always emotional. But doing it with children? It’s a different level entirely.

It’s coordinating naps around showings.
It’s packing up your entire life while trying to keep routines intact.
It’s making big financial decisions while also thinking about schools, space, and stability.

I understand the stress, the pressure, and the weight of those decisions in a much more personal way. And because of that, I show up differently: More present. More efficient. More intentional.

I work smarter. I value my time. And I’m deeply committed to delivering real value to the people I work with.
