🇨🇦🇺🇸 What does the Canada–U.S. trade situation actually mean for the Durham Region housing market?

We’re hearing a LOT about tariffs, trade negotiations and economic uncertainty right now… but if you own a home or you’re thinking about buying or selling, you probably have a much simpler question:

What does this mean for me?

The reality is, trade can affect more than just the price of goods crossing the border.

It can impact:
• construction and renovation costs
• jobs and consumer confidence
• inflation and interest rates
• buyer activity
• and ultimately, the real estate market

Does that mean Durham Region home prices are suddenly going to crash? No.

Does anyone know exactly what happens next? Also no.

What we can do is watch what’s actually happening here in Durham… inventory, prices, days on market, mortgage rates and buyer activity… instead of making decisions based on scary headlines.

SOLD REPRESENTING OUR BUYER! 🔑

Sometimes finding the right home happens quickly… and sometimes it takes months, a LOT of showings, a few “absolutely nots,” and a whole lot of patience.

This was one of those searches, and it makes getting to say SOLD that much sweeter.

Lisa and I truly believe that buying a home isn’t about rushing you into a house. It’s about sticking with you until we find the right one. Whether that takes five showings or fifty, we’re there. We’ll keep searching, keep adjusting, keep answering the questions and keep going until you walk into the one that finally feels right.

Why does your Realtor want you to sign a Designated Representation Agreement? 🤔

If you’re buying a home in Ontario, there’s a good chance this document is going to land in front of you at some point… and if you’ve never seen one before, it can look a little intimidating.

What exactly are you signing? Why does your Realtor want it? What does it mean for you as a buyer? And are you REALLY stuck with that Realtor for the next 90 days? 😂

That’s exactly what I’m breaking down in this video… in plain English.

A good buyer/Realtor relationship should work both ways. You should know who is representing you, what they’re responsible for, what you’re agreeing to, and what you can expect from them.

And my rule has always been pretty simple:
