A Thanksgiving meal is about more than what’s on the table — it’s about the community coming together. 🧡

Today, we shared our annual Thanksgiving meal with our community, and our hearts are full of gratitude for everyone who helped make it possible.

A heartfelt thank-you to Crystal Springs and the Hutterite colonies for donating corn and carrots, and to Arm River, Silver Winds, White Shell and New Haven for the delicious homemade pumpkin and apple pies.

We’re also deeply grateful to our generous donors, volunteers, and staff. Every donation, every helping hand and every hour of hard work helped bring this meal together and make our community feel welcome.

Thank you for bringing so much love, compassion and joy to our community this Thanksgiving 🧡

For most of her life, Becky knew the comfort of having a home. She grew up in a loving family, learned to be independent and was excited to find her first full-time job.

Then, things began to change.

Becky started struggling with her mental health. She heard sounds and voices no one else seemed to hear, leaving her frightened and unsure of what was real. Not wanting to worry her family, she kept it to herself and became increasingly isolated.

As her mental health deteriorated, Becky lost her job, was evicted and found herself living on the streets with nowhere to turn.

One day, she walked through Siloam Mission’s doors looking for a meal and a safe place to stay. She found more than food and shelter. She found community, understanding and people ready to walk alongside her.

Our staff connected Becky with mental health professionals. Through regular therapy, medication and support from her caseworker, her symptoms became more manageable. She found stable housing, reconnected with her family and returned to work with her former employer.

This Thanksgiving, after a long time apart, Becky will be visiting her parents. ❤️

We're so proud of Becky. Her journey continues, but she is no longer facing it alone.

This Thankful Thursday, we’re sending a big thank you to the wonderful team from Access Storage ❤️

During the summer, Access Storage generously made a donation that helped make a BBQ-themed celebration for our entire community possible. The team also joined us in the kitchen to prepare and serve the meal to members of our community.

We are getting ready for Thanksgiving! 🍂❤️

Each year, we invite our supporters to decorate placemats and send them back to us. These colourful creations are placed on the tables during our Thanksgiving meal, adding a special touch and reminding community members that people across Manitoba care.

This year, we received these beautiful placemats and wanted to share with you as we prepare for the season of giving.

It started with one simple question: How can we do more? 💬

When local healthcare partners reached out to Siloam Mission, an important need came into focus: Many experiencing homelessness and addiction had limited access to care that could help them move toward stability and recovery.

That conversation brought together Siloam’s Saul Sair Health Centre, 432 Health Group and NeuroMed to create a low-barrier Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT) program.

No appointments. No long waits. No bus rides across town. Just compassionate care, dignity and hope, right where people already are.

Today, around 30 people access this life-changing support each day, helping them take meaningful steps toward recovery, stability and a fresh start. ❤️

This Thanksgiving, your generosity can help someone find care, hope and a place to belong.

A home is more than four walls. It’s fresh sheets, a warm towel, a hot cup of coffee and a clean, comfortable place to rest. ❤️

When some of our neighbours move into a new home, they arrive with only what they can carry. A Move-In Kit provides the everyday essentials that help an empty space begin to feel like home.

This Thanksgiving, our Move-In Kit supplies are running low, and we need your help restocking:
• Bed sheets
• Towels
• Cleaning and hygiene supplies
• Coffee makers and kettles

Every item can help someone feel more comfortable and settled as they begin a new chapter.

Donations can be dropped off at Siloam Mission, 300 Princess St. at the Henry Avenue entrance, Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

You can also order through our Amazon Wish List at www.siloam.ca/wishlist and have your donation shipped directly to us, or give at www.siloam.ca/thanksgiving.

Love connecting with people and working with numbers? Siloam Mission is looking for data clerks and friendly conversationalists to volunteer with our Stewardship team! ❤️

Volunteers will help process donations and mail, update donor information, respond to inquiries and thank donors through phone calls, letters and handwritten cards.

Successful applicants must commit to one regular four-hour shift per week from October 2026 through February 2027. Training will take place October 14, 15, 16 and 19. PHIA training and Police and Vulnerable Sector Checks are required.

This summer, we welcomed the wonderful Adult Ministry group from First Lutheran Church in Minnesota! They came with gifts, toured Siloam and jumped right into a volunteer shift in our clothing store.

They certainly made their trip to Winnipeg and their time at Siloam count! ❤️

What a beautiful day at Siloam Mission! ❤️

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Truth and Reconciliation gathering. Together, we took part in ceremony, drumming and dancing, smudging and a traditional feast.

We are so grateful to our staff and volunteers who helped bring everything together and created such a warm and welcoming space for our community.

A special thank you to Elder Mike Calder, Lance Myerion and his Brown Bear Drumming Group, and the incredible dancers that helped make the day so meaningful for our Community.

It was a day filled with connection, learning, and reflection as we honoured Indigenous Peoples and Survivors. We will continue learning and walking together, today and every day. 🧡
