We tried something new!

The Chapmans team experienced a new kind of team building recently, spending the afternoon with Daksha from Daksha Patel Resilience for a guided SOMA breathwork experience.

SOMA breathwork helps you deeply relax, regulate the nervous system and release accumulated stress. 
For us, it was an afternoon out with a difference.

Some of us loved the idea and some of us felt unsure but we all went with open minds, and appreciated the chance to switch off and see things differently.

Big thanks to Daksha for such a grounding session.

Our director, Laura’s monthly breakfast meeting with the Edinburgh Care Forum gave us food for thought.

The group brings together like-minded professionals from different industries with a shared interest in later life care, and every meeting leaves us with a fresh perspective.

Today’s discussion at Handelsbanken focused on the role AI could play in supporting the ageing generation in the years ahead - namely AI in personal care and robotics helping with cooking and cleaning. Japan, unsurprisingly, seems to be leading the way in many areas.

It was a super interesting morning and proof that innovation doesn’t always have to be about speed or disruption. It’s good t o know it can improve a person’s quality of life too.
