Following a Scotland-wide open call in 2024, five artists were shortlisted and the public voted for their favourite proposal. Artist Ben Barbour was selected as the winner.

His sculpture, Subterranean Diversion, is now being brought to life in collaboration with curator Matthew Jarratt and Pangolin Editions. The 2.4m stainless steel work is currently in production and will soon find its home at Edinburgh Park.

Inspired by the historic path of the Gogar Burn, the piece reflects the layered histories of the site and reimagines the landscape through contemporary sculpture.

Mollie's Motel & Diner
A new addition to Edinburgh Park

We’re delighted to welcome Mollie’s to Edinburgh Park, with contracts now exchanged for their fourth UK motel & diner and first site in Scotland.

Set to open in 2028 (subject to planning), the new hotel will bring ~200 rooms, a vibrant diner with outdoor terrace, and flexible event spaces — adding energy and life to our emerging mixed-use urban quarter, alongside the upcoming AEG Arena.

This partnership reflects our vision for Edinburgh Park as a dynamic, well-connected place to live, work and visit — and we’re excited to see it take shape.

More progress at Edinburgh Park as works start on the creation of 'Comet Kiss' Street.

Comet Kiss Street is one of the new road names at Edinburgh Park, and was created by Janette Ayachi as part of Parabola's street naming strategy.

Janette pulled inspiration from poet "Edwin Morgan (1920- 2010)" and the stanza associated with this street is:

The galaxies slipped into kaleidoscope once more

comet kisses melting against sun, at seventy

Comet Kiss Street forms part of the new Private Residential development by S1 Developments, the new development, called "The New Village" will be a thriving urban neighbourhood comprising 397 new homes (1,2 and 3 bed apartments and 3 bed mews houses) located at the heart of Edinburgh Park.

It is affordable and forward-looking, with sustainable homes powered by all-electric and fossil-free energy.
