Our new Little Saplings Explorer Trail is open, with 7 rubbing plaques to discover and animals and plants to learn about along the way 🐾🍃

Starting at The Farmstead, explore the green spaces of Phases 2 and 3, taking in Oasis Park, Elmers Gate and the new Green on Phase 3b.

Ready to get going? 🧒 👶

🗺️ Pick up your trail leaflet from ROAM Café at The Farmstead.
✏️ Bring a pencil or crayon and find all 7 plaques.
⭐ Return your completed leaflet to ROAM to collect your WELL DONE! sticker!

A perfect opportunity for some fresh air, curious minds and family time — and an adventure to add to your half-term plans! 🍂

🚸 Please keep children accompanied throughout, as the route includes road crossings between the phases of the trail.

🚧 Balcony installation works – Fernlow development

Some of you may have spotted Dandara installing balconies at the Fernlow development. The work temporarily takes up half the road on Waterslade Way, near the junction with the Neighbourhood Centre road.

📅 The Waterslade Way installations are due to finish today, with the team scheduled to return on Friday (09 Oct) to complete the remaining installations from the Bus Gate road.

🚗 No road closures are required, but please take extra care when passing the works.

As the work doesn’t require a road closure, we understand Dandara weren’t required to notify us of the precise timings. A few residents have asked what’s happening, so we wanted to share the information we have.

🚌 Bus Gate & Services Update – Neighbourhood Centre

Surfacing and installation works at the bus gate on Lime Tree Drive (west) are almost complete! The Real Time Passenger Information boards are now live, although the text-to-speech function needs an update, which the council is aware of. 🔊

Following a conversation with Central Bedfordshire Council’s bus team this morning, Arriva’s L bus service is expected to start next week. We’ll share a further update once services are running.

📷 Please be aware: bus gate camera enforcement could begin as early as today or from next week.

The exact start date is yet to be confirmed, so please observe the restrictions now. Unauthorised vehicles passing through could receive a fine— so it’s not worth the risk.

A little time for you. A lot of connection with your little one. 🤍

Join Carla for MUMS & BABY PILATES 🤱 at The Farmstead, Linmere—a welcoming class created to help you move, rebuild strength and enjoy precious time together with your baby. 🌿👶

Carla's building a loyal group of customers and wants us to share the word for more of you to join. As well as some gentle movement, supportive company and a warm space where you can feel completely at ease, it's also a good social to connect with other mothers in the area.

🛒 Have you been to the new Co-op Food at Linmere yet?

🕖 Now open 7am–10pm, seven days a week, opposite Thornhill School.

The opening brought together enthusiastic residents, former Houghton Regis Mayor Councillor Michelle Herber and the Co-op team to celebrate this welcome addition to our community.

🥐 Inside, you’ll find fresh groceries, an in-store bakery, hot and cold food-to-go and frozen meals from COOK, alongside household essentials, vegan and Free From choices.

🚲 Parking and cycle hoops are available, with good access to Silver Birch Park.

With three more retail outlets opening soon, the neighbourhood centre will bring even greater convenience to Phase One and, in time, Phase Four. We’ll share more news as their openings approach.

🌿 Working together to keep Linmere tidy

A big thank you to the teams from bpha and the Land Trust, who joined forces this week for a litter pick across part of Linmere Phase 2 and the green borders around The Farmstead. 🧤🗑️

This was their first joint litter pick, with more planned throughout the year. The area is generally in good shape, but these regular rounds help tackle the stray litter that gathers in hedgerows and planted borders. 💚
