A significant milestone reached at Stour Road, Hackney Wick for our client, Firethorn Trust.
 
This landmark PBSA scheme will provide 204 student beds, including 35% affordable accommodation, new workspace for the local community, and the preservation of the historic Broadwood chimney originally constructed in 1902.
 
We’re proud to be supporting the project as Project Manager, Cost Consultant and Employer’s Agent, and look forward to seeing construction progress.

Last week marked the launch of Florentia Village, transforming the former Florentia Clothing Village into nearly 98,000 sqft of flexible workspace for local SMEs.

Quartz supported the project from inception to completion, leading the procurement strategy, administering the contract and helping deliver the scheme through a transition to a construction management route.

It’s great to see the development now open, providing sustainable, high-quality workspace while supporting the regeneration of the area.

We are delighted to have achieved Practical Completion at Aviator 140, Hurricane Way South, Sherburn-in-Elmet, Leeds.
 
Quartz acted as Contract Administrator, Project Manager, Cost Consultant, and Principal Designer for the delivery of a comprehensive refurbishment of this 140,000 sqft warehouse, including significant EPC improvement works.
 
The refurbishment programme included:
 
• Roof refurbishment works
• Full redecoration of the external elevations
• Mechanical and electrical upgrades
• Structural alterations to open up the undercroft area
• Office refurbishment
• External groundworks
• Installation of EV charging infrastructure
 
This project has transformed the building, enhancing both its operational performance and sustainability credentials while providing high-quality industrial and office accommodation.
 
We are proud to have played a key role in delivering this impressive project for CANMOOR.

Quartz hosted its third Prop Padel tournament last Thursday in Battersea, bringing together colleagues and clients from across the property industry for an enjoyable afternoon of competitive (but friendly) matches.
 
With a strong turnout once again, players swapped desks for courts and spreadsheets for smashes, with a good level of play throughout and plenty of light-hearted moments along the way.

Construction Market Sentiment Q2 2026: Cautious Confidence in an Increasingly Complex Market 
 
Quartz’s latest contractor sentiment survey highlights a market that remains active, but increasingly cautious amid geopolitical uncertainty and inflationary pressure linked to the conflict in the Middle East. 
 
Drawing insight from 30 main contractors operating across the UK private construction market, several key themes emerged: 
 
• Continued tender price inflation driven by energy, material and logistics cost pressures 
• Growing adoption of two-stage and collaborative procurement models 
• Increasing focus on material pricing, supply chain resilience and contractor insolvency risk 
• Cautious optimism around contractor turnover growth and future pipelines 
 
The findings suggest the industry is adapting through earlier engagement, evolving procurement strategies and more disciplined risk management. 
 
For clients and developers, certainty, collaboration and realistic procurement strategies are becoming critical to securing strong contractor engagement and successful project outcomes.

Exciting progress at Poland House 👷‍♂️
 
Poland House is a new PBSA development delivering 284 student bedrooms, alongside flexible community space at ground level. We’re pleased to share that the project has recently achieved Gateway 2 approval, with piling works starting on site and progressing well.
 
The scheme is arranged as four interlocking blocks ranging from 8 to 12 storeys, creating a distinctive presence within the local area. In addition to high-quality accommodation, the development incorporates landscaped outdoor areas, accessible car parking, servicing facilities, cycle storage, and public realm improvements, supporting a well-integrated and sustainable addition to the community.
