Are interest rates about to take a turn?

The big question: Has the property market caught fire? 🔥

Not exactly. According to Chris Farhi (Bayleys Head of Insights), the market hasn't "exploded" just yet. Instead, we're seeing steady, calculated activity as international buyers navigate the new categories.

The demand is there, but the "gold rush" is looking more like a "refined migration."

📍 Thinking of investing or selling in the luxury tier? Let’s chat about what these changes mean for your property.

For months, speculation has swirled about how easing the rules for high–net-worth foreign buyers would reshape our luxury property market.

The Reserve Bank’s latest call on the Official Cash Rate has everyone talking, and after weeks of speculation it made the bold decision to slash the rate by 50 basis points to 2.5%.

We’re now in stimulatory territory, but is it enough to get the economy moving, and with inflation almost out of its box could OCR hikes be coming next?

New Zealand’s property market is shaped by a mix of distinct buyer groups, each responding differently to shifting economic conditions and housing trends. From first-home buyers eager to get a foot on the ladder, to smaller-scale investors eyeing opportunities in more affordable segments, and existing homeowners considering their next move, these groups collectively influence demand and help set the tone for where the market is heading.
Kelvin Davidson give some insight on where each group.
