Ockham Residential

Ockham Residential Reimagining urban communities since 2009. We design and build high-quality homes across Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau. Reimagining urban communities. The West Coast!

That’s our mission in a sentence. Reverence for Tāmaki Makaurau infuses our work: we’re unashamed Auckland patriots, Auckland evangelists even, and believe our city (The Waitakere Ranges! The Gulf ! The Islands! The Maunga!) is one of the best places in the world. It’s an ambitious goal, but we strive to make buildings that are as beautiful as the landscapes they sit within. We call ourselves ‘urb

an regenerators’: we want to play our part in making a new, dynamic Auckland work, without losing the charm of the old. We look long-term: we see housing as infrastructure, the building blocks of community. And building community is at the core of what we do. We are lead sponsor of Objectspace and the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards; we also fund the Ockham Collective and the Bridget Williams Books’ Texts Collection (among other initiatives). But we’re best known for our elegant and enduring buildings like Station R, Bernoulli Gardens and Modal in Mt Albert. Buildings for Auckland. But beyond bricks and mortar, it comes back to people, to the broader Auckland whānau — to our ambition to bring an awesome Auckland lifestyle to as many people and communities as we can.

Framed by porcelain tiles that continue from the building's interiors, the heated plunge pool at The Kubrick offers a bright, inviting place to begin the day or slow down at its close.

With an expansive poolside deck just beyond, it's another thoughtfully designed space that brings a sense of calm to everyday living.

Here’s another reason we're so proud to sponsor the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards: The day after winning the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction, Ingrid Horrocks was invited to her first international literary festival. Three days later, a second invitation followed. All Her Lives, a collection of short stories, went straight to number one on the NielsenIQ BookScan NZ Fiction Bestseller List, sold out, and was reprinted!

Great books deserve to be discovered. Congratulations, Ingrid!

The boulevard of flat white dreams is a five-minute stroll from The Kubrick. Lined with Kiwi fashion labels and curatorial homeware stores, Ponsonby sets the gold standard for high-end, intelligent style. The area is also home to famed Auckland eateries and the most excellent (a design, craft and architecture gallery we happen to think rather highly of, as its proud Principal Partner and all).

Then there's Karangahape Road, one of Auckland's most iconic strips, where high-calibre cafés, acclaimed eateries and a thriving creative scene have shaped a neighbourhood rich in character. Closer to home, Freemans Bay favourites like Nishiki and The Wine Room are always within easy reach.

Bars, bites and brilliant company. Everything you love about the city, minus the Uber home.

It’s full steam ahead at Station M. Roof steel is being installed this week, and the first bricks are now appearing on the façade, offering an exciting glimpse of the building's finished look.

Inside, level one framing is now complete, with services, pipework and cabling currently being installed. By August, the roof will be on, marking another major milestone as construction continues to gather pace.
