There’s a strong possibility that tomorrow morning all listings and data from Illinois’ multiple listing service Midwest Real Estate Data will not appear on Zillow. This comes down to a disagreement between MRED and Zillow about whether data that a seller chooses to publish online about their home or keep private is Zillow’s business or not.
Whether what either company is doing is best for the consumer will probably go to court. What remains the same is all Realtors and I (for one example!) will still have access to listings on MRED (and REMAX, and Realtor.com, and thousands of other public websites including mine, zerebnyhomes.com) to assist our clients. If you have questions on this before more news comes out please give me a call!
