The federal immigration crackdown is estimated to have had a $2 million dollar impact on the Twin Cities economy. I'm not sure if the depressive impact on Twin Cities homebuilders has been included in that number.
But this CNN report makes it clear that industry has been significantly impacted.
The February housing market stats bear that out as well. February saw a 23 percent drop in new construction homes listed for sale, compared with February 2025, and a 7 percent drop in the total inventory of new construction homes available for purchase.
One Twin Cities homebuilder called the situation "misery for the housing industry."
