Business ownership is not for everyone.
But I’m convinced far too many people who could build something meaningful are sitting on the sidelines because the whole thing feels too mysterious, too risky, or too far out of reach.
A few weeks ago, we put four Boise business owners in the hot seat and asked the questions new and future owners actually want answered.
What did it really take to get started?
What mistakes almost took you out?
How did you find customers?
What do you wish you had known before taking the leap?
The truth is, not every business makes it. The odds are real. The sacrifices are real. And nobody should pretend otherwise.
But every person we’ve talked to who has built something successful once stood exactly where you might be standing right now: wondering if they had what it takes, wondering if there was room for them, wondering if success was reserved for somebody else.
It’s not.
There may be a better future available to you. One where you create something you care about, solve a real problem, serve people well, and get paid for work you actually enjoy doing.
That does not mean you should quit your job tomorrow and bet everything on an idea.
It does mean you should come learn, ask better questions, be challenged, and figure out whether business ownership might be part of your story.
