The 2026 NAR Legislative Meetings are in the books.
Over the past week, REALTORS® from across the country gathered in Washington, D.C. to meet directly with members of Congress and their staffs to discuss practical solutions to some of housing’s biggest challenges.
This year’s priorities included increasing housing inventory through the More Homes on the Market Act, helping first-time homebuyers access their own retirement savings for a down payment, encouraging the conversion of underutilized commercial properties into housing, and addressing the growing homeowners insurance affordability crisis.
A special thank you to our 2026 Board President Kevin Williamson, NAR Directors Lisa Fore and Rick Snyder, and Board Member Nila Esposito for taking time away from their businesses, families, and clients to represent North San Diego County REALTORS® on Capitol Hill.
We would also like to thank Congressman Mike Levin, Congressman Darrell Issa, and their staffs for taking the time to meet with our delegation and engage in meaningful discussions on the issues impacting homeowners, housing affordability, and the real estate industry.
Advocacy remains one of the most important things we do as REALTORS®. When we have a seat at the table, we have an opportunity to shape the policies that affect our members, property owners, and future homebuyers.
