Before you move to the Scottsdale area, there are a few things about Arizona living you need to know. In this video, I cover monsoon season — July through September brings sudden heavy rain, dust storms called haboobs, and desert washes that can run fast and deep. Never drive into a wash deeper than your tires, especially along the Scottsdale Greenbelt. The storms are intense but short-lived, and they create some of the most beautiful sunsets you'll ever see. I also break down what driving in the Phoenix metro really looks like — Maricopa County is massive, but well-designed freeways make getting around more manageable than most major metros.
