When I received this email informing me that I joined the "Top 500", I thought it was spam. And had to clarify that "wait...this means that I'm in the top 500 of all the realtors in all of Chicago?!?" And what do ya know? It's true.

It almost doesn't seem real. But what IS real is that I love this job. I want to excel, want to do my best, and be in the tippy top...not just in terms of stats and numbers, but because of how I execute the job.

At a business event last week I was reminded that the general public hates realtors. We are on the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to trust. My hope is that I've earned this spot and continue to remain in this position because I've done my very best, put my clients first, treated their purchase with the same consideration as I would my own, and earned their trust.

I may not have figured out how to have any work/life balance with this career, but I do know that I wouldn't want to be doing anything else. Nothing makes me happier than when it all works out. This conversation started over a year ago...when I met the buyers who were patiently wanting something unique, in a specific neighborhood, to make a dream reality. When neighborhood chatter let them know an opportunity was possibly on the horizon, we toured while still off-market, strategized, prepared and were compulsively waiting to submit a winning offer. Within hours of the property going live, we presented. A day later, I had a countersigned contract in my inbox. I am so excited to see what happens to this glorious, handsome, massive vintage home…and filled with gratitude to have had the privilege of seeing this one to the finish line. Congrats M and T!

It's an extremely challenging market out there, for both buyers facing intense competition and renters facing steep increases in rent. My advice? Find opportunities like this: 3121 N. Belle Plaine Unit 2N. An adorable 2 bedroom 2 bath condo with in-unit laundry, a dedicated dining area, primary suite, one parking spot, and extra storage...where all major mechanicals and appliances are 1-3 years, and located in a rapidly growing neighborhood, just west of Lincoln square and blocks to Horner Park (and beloved spots like Miko's Italian Ice and Somethin' Sweet Donuts 🥰). For $375,000 you can get your foot in the door of home ownership, gain equity, and eventually rent out or sell.

While it is a seller's market in Chicago, it can vary neighborhood to neighborhood and this property had a few logistical challenges to overcome in order to find just the right buyer. Staging, list price, marketing and networking are always crucial to creating success. Was up until 1am assembling the pop a shot made all the more difficult after consuming a gummie (me) and some liquor (dave) and I think we truly hated each other at one point but pulled it together after remembering how country songs say we’re gonna miss this one day then could hardly sleep and then Leroy came in our room at 4am bursting with energy and I staved him off until 5:45am but what the heck why not let’s do it opened presents tried to nap Dave was starving ok let’s do breakfast and nap after nope Leroy is shoving his new demagorgon in my face and FaceTiming all his friends to show each others their treasures it’s so wholesome and the house is a disaster time to pack and go back to Door County in an hour not sure I actually ever really slept at all bless this mess getting a double espresso and MERRY CHRISTMAS ❤️🎄❤️

Closed! No filter needed for my first time home buyer who walked into the first place she saw and said "is it crazy to make an offer on this right now?" 60% of homebuyers find their property their first time out...so no, it isn't crazy. What IS cra, is this market...so of course we found ourselves in a multiple offer situation. I told her not only what the I thought market value was, but more importantly, what I thought was a WINNING offer…and that's exactly what she submitted. I was checking in on her the other day and she said "I still can't believe this is mine". From a loyal rental client to a new home owner, I'm so happy to bring this one to the finish line! This job is interesting, because every deal involves human beings, with a wide array of needs and personalities. Sometimes a home search takes months and months. 2025 was challenging and that it required buyers to occasionally lose out on dream homes before they were ready to make a true winning offer. Some had to adjust expectations, reset criteria. Some re-signed their leases. Or.. in this case…some attend ONE open house, and are in it to win it! I was surprised when these past clients reached out just a couple years after purchasing their first condo, saying they might want to move, and could I see this property they had recently perused at an open house. The moment I walked into this unit, I knew it made perfect sense for them. It made perfect sense for many other buyers too as we found ourselves in…you guessed it: a multiple offer situation. My clients had the flexibility to give the sellers their ideal closing date, had strong financing, the excellent skills of on their side, and I made a concession on my commission to ensure my clients came out on top. My last closing for October. This one was special for a few reasons: 1. I was able to help a dear high school friend, and his siblings, with the daunting task of selling their parent’s home 2. As a don’t live close to Lockport, but wanted to give my clients the highest level of service, I was able to co-list this property with one of my OGs , a colleague I have immense respect for, and 3. We had multiple offers from cash investors, who intended to flip the house. But my clients decided to take on a little bit of risk and go with a family with an FHA loan who offered the most attractive price. Everyone won ❤️ So happy for our clients who can close this chapter, and the new owners who are just starting theirs ❤️ 1007 Read in Lockport IL is closed at 105% of list price.
