This “astounding work of architecture and art, rendered on an immense scale” is a treasure for the Uptown neighborhood and the City of Chicago. The Southside Community Optimal Redevelopment Enterprise (SCORE), a community development entity (CDE) controlled by McCaffery Interests, Inc., is thrilled to announce it has been awarded $50 million in New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC) from the 2023 U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund. First funded in 2012, SCORE has received $370 million in awards to date, which has financed 55 businesses, supported the creation and retention of more than 6,500 jobs, and provided services to more than 150,000 individuals in Illinois and Indiana.
