These c. 1889 floors had seen things — layers of wear, and years of “make it work” fixes… including patches made from old soup cans. 🥫
I decided to lean into the chaos and give them a second life with paint and lots of patience. The pine wasn’t great, but that’s part of owning an old house. You uncover history one layer at a time. Sand, patch, paint, repeat.
It wasn’t perfect, but that’s kind of the point. Old homes tell stories — and this floor probably had a few wild ones. Damn, I loved that house.
