I have not seen this ever in my long term Real Estate career! I place dozens of brilliant Chicago students and young people into rentals each year and this year there is a MAJOR SHORTAGE! Also rent prices have jumped to unattainable prices. I have some student clients who literally have nowhere to go! And this is AFTER colleges cut student housing. It’s a sheer lack of housing creating this mess. I am working on CHANGING these conditions! Not waiting on politicians and greedy developers to move the needle. They have proven to be part of the problem. I’m working with Chicago based small businesses to create affordable housing. We didn’t come here to play, we came to work! Cutting the red tape, cutting the crap, and creating AFFORDABLE, ATTAINABLE and BEAUTIFUL housing for all! Stay tuned!

Something has got to give with this rental market!! 💸 It’s hurting people, especially young people, who are trying to build a life and struggling to even get a foot in! Chicago rents are at minimum $100 more on average but in South Loop 🌆 and surrounding neighborhoods, the average rent is up by $300! And there is a MAJOR shortage of housing so this is now creating a ‘perfect storm’ ☔️ of which, there is no end in sight.
Greedy developers, ridiculous red tape, and, as usual, the people get screwed!
Time to demand Affordable Housing for all! Stop with the excuses and promises and fix it!
