I was 10 years old on September 11, 2001. At that age, I didn’t fully understand what I was watching or how much that day would change our country forever.

Now, at 35, I look back on that day with a much different perspective.

I think about the nearly 3,000 lives that were lost, the families whose lives changed forever, and the incredible courage of the first responders and ordinary Americans who stepped forward to help others.

I also remember what came after—the way our country came together. Neighbors looked out for neighbors. Strangers helped strangers. Our differences seemed smaller, and for a moment, we were simply Americans standing together.

Twenty-five years later, that part is worth remembering too.

Today, I’m taking a moment to honor those we lost, those who ran toward danger, and the families who still carry the weight of that day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸
