I have been personally involved in real estate investing for 5 years and recently decided to become a professional Real Estate Broker to help others buy and invest in real estate. I attended Brigham Young University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, and my skills in Broadcast Journalism give me a unique insight into how to market properties and tell powerful and moving stories (in

other words, I can get your home sold!). Before becoming a professional Realtor, I served in Air Force Special Operations for 9 years and deployed 5 times to Iraq, Syria, Qatar, UAE, and, most recently, to Afghanistan to provide security during the evacuation. I was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Combat Action Badge, 5 Air Medals (with “C” device), the Humanitarian Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, and the Joint Service Achievement Medal. I have real-life experience in strategic planning, teamwork, negotiation, and task management that make me uniquely suited to serve real estate buyers and sellers. I entered the Real Estate world because homeownership is the American Dream, and I have seen it change hundreds of lives. I have dedicated my own life to mastering the market, negotiations, and strategy so my clients can enjoy the many benefits of home-ownership. I live in Colorado Springs with my dog, Butters. I spend my free time rock climbing, mountain climbing, working out, reading, and serving on the leadership team with Patrol Base Abbate (a veteran community organization).

L.L. Bean is opening a 13,000 square foot store in the old Container Store space at the Promenade Shops at Briargate. Two million dollar remodel, expected to open in late October.

The number that stood out to me: they're opening eight stores in the entire United States this year, and Colorado Springs is on the list alongside Ann Arbor, Naperville, Beavercreek, and a handful of others.

That's happening while the rest of the industry pulls back. Orvis is closing 31 stores and 5 outlets. REI is closing Boston, SoHo, and Paramus. Eddie Bauer has been shrinking too.

The local angle I keep coming back to is speed. The Container Store went dark in April and the space already has a tenant, a permit, and a fall opening date. Retail vacancy here is running around 5%, and up north space is often leased before the building is finished.

Two questions I'd love answers to:

Are you actually going to shop there, or do we already have enough outdoor stores between Scheels, Bass Pro, Cabela's, REI, and Sportsman's Warehouse?

And what should go in the old Biaggi's space?
