One of my favorite requests to get. And this one was stunning.

More room between neighbors. Space for the kids to run. A workshop, a few animals, or simply some peace and quiet at the end of the day.

Acreage homes around Denton County and DFW can vary significantly, so finding the right one is about more than the house. You also have to consider restrictions, utilities, drainage, maintenance, and how the land can actually be used.

If a little more space is part of your next move, I’m always happy to help you find it.

This 2024 built home is almost 3000 sq ft, 24.2 acres, a pond, massive shop/garage and premium finishes on the inside.

Need weekend plans? I did the digging so you don’t have to.

Here are 6 things happening around Denton County this weekend, September 25–27:

Lewisville Western Days
Cobbins Family Pumpkin Patch opening weekend
Monster Truck Wars in Denton
Movie in the Park in Flower Mound
Denton Community Market
UNT Football at DATCU Stadium

My pick this week is Western Days. There’s a ton going on in Old Town Lewisville, and if you get there before 6 PM, admission is free. If you’re ready to pretend the weather finally feels like fall, Cobbins opening weekend is a close second.

Save this for the weekend and send it to the person who always asks, “What are we doing this weekend?”

I put together a fresh list of things to do around Denton County every week.

Some homes make more sense once you walk through them. I wish photos and video could convey the vastness of this home and light the windows let in.

2504 Silver Leaf Drive offers 3,219 square feet with 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, an office, a dedicated media room, game room, oak floors, a three-car tandem garage, and an extended patio.

It was built in 2023, so you get the feel of a newer home with many of the upgrades already included.

Located in The Ridge at Northlake with Argyle ISD, neighborhood pools, pickleball courts, a splash pad, and community activities nearby.

If you want to see it in person, send me a message and I’ll set up a private tour.

Just got back from Disneyland with my family.

It was exhausting in the way only a Disney trip with three kids can be, but it was also a much-needed mental break. A few days of rides, late nights, tired feet, 4 cauldrons full of popcorn, and getting to experience it all through the kids’ eyes- didn’t know my kids were thrill seekers, space mountain was their favorite ride.

And obligatory mention of real estate; it didn’t completely stop while I was gone. There were still calls to answer, details to handle, and clients to take care of between rides. That is part of the job, and I’m grateful I can keep things moving while still being present for trips like this.

I came home tired, grateful, full of churros, and ready to get back to work. Definitely a trip we’ll remember.

Argyle has grown a lot over the last decade, but one thing it has never really had is a traditional town center.
That may slowly be starting to change.

Argyle Marketplace is developing along 377, the Nature Trail sits directly behind it, and Hurtado Barbecue recently announced plans for a new restaurant with its patio facing the trail.
But the bigger idea is more interesting than any one restaurant.
Mayor Ron Schmidt has described a long-term vision where you could walk the Nature Trail, grab dinner, shop and eventually stroll through more of a Main Street-style area.
Obviously, Argyle isn’t turning into a traditional downtown overnight. There’s still a lot that would have to happen.
But as this area keeps growing, I think the question of where Argyle’s actual community gathering place will be is going to become increasingly important.
And we may be starting to see the answer take shape along 377.

Denton Blues Festival
Rhythms at the River Walk + Duck Derby
Autumn Fest in Little Elm
Movie in the Park in Flower Mound
Clear Creek Guided Hike
Trading Post 1881 in Argyle
Plus an honorable mention for the Garden Tour & Workshop in Denton.

My pick of the week is the Denton Blues Festival. If you want live music, food, vendors and a full day out in Denton, that’s probably the move.

Save this for the weekend, send it to the person who always asks what the plan is, and follow along for next week’s list.

Some homes look great in photos. The better ones also make sense for everyday life.

2504 Silver Leaf Drive does both.

The kitchen, living room, and dining area come together naturally, with large windows, oak floors, and enough space for everyone to be together without feeling crowded.

But the home also gives you places to spread out. There’s a dedicated media room, four bedrooms, three and a half bathrooms, a three-car tandem garage, and an extended covered patio with a gas line ready for the grill.

It was built in 2023, so you get the benefit of a newer home without waiting for construction. The appliances are included, and the smart lighting, thermostat, oven, washer, and dryer are already in place.
Outside the home, The Ridge offers two pools, a splash pad, pickleball, a pond, community activities, and access to Argyle ISD.

This is not simply a home with 3,219 square feet. It’s a home where those square feet were used well.

Downsizing sounds simple until you realize you want less square footage without giving up the lifestyle you’ve worked hard to create.

These buyers had a very specific vision for their next home. They wanted luxury finishes, a larger lot, a familiar part of town, and enough flexibility to make the home their own over time.

We saw other possibilities, but each one required a compromise that felt a little too much like settling.

Then we found this one.
It gives them the right amount of space for this next season without making their world feel smaller. It also gives them room to grow into the property and create exactly what they want.

They’re officially under contract in Double Oak, and this one was worth waiting for.

Denton County is running out of room, and apparently that applies to the courts too.
The county is planning a roughly $60 million renovation of the former Sally Beauty headquarters on Colorado Boulevard in Denton, converting the five-story building into a new Civil Courts facility.
Plans include seven civil district courts, probate courts, jury space, a law library and several county offices, with room to add more courts in the future.
Construction is currently expected to begin later this year and run into 2028.
It’s not the kind of growth project that gets the same attention as a new highway, school or shopping center, but it’s another example of what happens when a county grows as quickly as Denton County has.
Eventually, everything has to grow with it.
