• DSISD is considered a “destination district,” attracting families specifically for the schools.
• Enrollment projection: about 13,000 students expected in DSISD within the next 10 years.
• Housing growth forecast (next decade): 13,644 additional homes
• 10,722 single-family (78.6%)
• 1,830 multifamily (13.4%)
• 812 age-restricted (6%)
• 240 build-to-rent (1.8%)
• 40 manufactured homes (0.3%)
• Growth is stabilizing due to water and wastewater infrastructure limits.
• Elementary school zones are expected to stay stable for several years because growth has slowed.
• Largest upcoming developments
• Double L Ranch: +1,600 homes
• Penn Ranch: +946 homes
• Wild Ridge: +863 homes
• Village Grove: +511 homes
• Caliterra: +419 homes
• Out-of-district transfers now allowed for K-6
• Applications open April 1
• $150 fee
• Accepted only if space is available
• Career & Technical Education programs include: programming, robotics, engineering, audio/visual production, entrepreneurship, health sciences, law enforcement, and agriculture.
