Durham City Council

On April 6, 2026 the Durham City Council proclaimed April as Fair Housing Month for the City of Durham - reaffirming the city's commitment to providing fair and equal housing opportunities Sharon Sunkel received the proclamation on behalf of DRAR.

Durham County Commissioners

On March 23, the Durham County Commissioners also proclaimed April 2026 as Fair Housing Month in Durham County. The proclamation declared that the county is an inclusive community committed to fair housing and to promoting appropriate activities by private and public entities to provide and advocate for equal housing opportunities for all residents and prospective residents.

DRAR President Sondra Trice-Jones received the proclamation on behalf of DRAR.
