Moving a 3% mortgage to a new home sounds great, but does it actually solve the larger issues at hand?

Portable mortgages are something I have been hearing about a lot lately. The way I see it is that it will not help bring down prices since people will still want to sell their homes for as much as possible, and it will still be hard for first-time homebuyers to get into the market with high prices and high interest rates.

There is more inventory right now than there has been in years which means the rules have changed. The sellers who understand that are the ones walking away from the closing table happy.
